Local Councillor to take on Labour in GLA fight - 29.04.07

Local Conservatives have selected their candidate for the Greenwich & Lewisham GLA seat. Andy Jenning, a Greenwich Councillor for Hornfair Ward, (which he won from Labour) was selected by local members in April after a thorough selection process.

Andy works as Head of Finance for a music company and is a keen sportsman who enjoys following cricket and using his Charlton season ticket to the full.

Speaking following his selection Andy said:

"I am delighted to have been slected to lead the fight against the Labour Party in Greenwich and Lewisham and I shall be scrutinising the Mayor's spending very closely in the coming months.

Conservatives are the main challengers to Labour in the Greenwich and Lewisham seat and I look forward to working closely with the local party and the Conservative Mayoral candidate to build further on that support in next year's election."
