Jonathan Clamp PPC

Jonathan Clamp is the Conservative parliamentary candidate for Lewisham East. The Conservatives are in second place in the seat, currently held by Bridget Prentice for Labour.


Jonathan is 39 and a Londoner born-and-bred. He has substantial experience of working in both the public and the private sectors.

Jonathan is currently a senior manager in the Public Sector division of British Telecom. In that role, he advises Local Councils in England on how they can use IT to become more effective in the way that they are run and more accessible to their public.

He was an elected Conservative Local Councillor in Kensington & Chelsea from 2002-6 and is passionate about improving social services, health and housing for people. In particular, Jonathan has done a lot of work with disadvantaged children.

As a Councillor, Jonathan is most proud of the project that he led to improve the life chances and educational attainment of children in care. More recently, Jonathan trekked in the Himalayas to raise money for a charity that takes children off the slums of Delhi in India and puts them back into education.

He lives in South London with his wife and their two sons, aged 5 and 3. A former Territorial Army soldier, Jonathan enjoys running, travel and history.
